Left ventricular functions will be evaluated to identify if the left ventricle has normal morphology and functions. EPSS value will determine the left venticular filling and will be used to explain the left ventricular functions. Fifteen geriatric dogs were evaluated echocardiographically using the WED-9168v (Shenzhen Well.D Medical Electronics Co., Ltd) with 5 MHz micro convex transducer (Model: C1-7/6OR). Mean measurements and standard deviations of body weight, age, IVSd, IVSs, LVDd, LVDs, LVPWd, LVPWs, EF (%), CO, SV, HR will be computed and analyzed. The average measurement of LVDd is 28.89 ± 10.48 while LVDs is 13.13 ± 7.13. Further average measurements of PLWDd and PLWDs a value of 8.73 ± 3.20 and 13.53 ± 4.14 while the IVSD and IVSs have a value of 7.00 ± 2.36 and 10.22 ± 3.07, respectively. The average measurement values of VEDV and LVESD were 44.81 ± 30.26 and 6.72 ± 7.33. The average measurement of SV is 37.57 ± 23.55 while SF has 50% ± 15.95%. EF has an average measurement of 85.09 % ±9.25% and the average of heart rate of the geriatric dog patients were 115.40bpm±2.12 bpm, respectively. The results of the study shows that B/M mode echocardiography is a good media, an easy way to measure and compute the indices of left ventricular and mitral valve functions in the left ventricular outflow tract. These data markds the importance of echocardiographic heart evaluation in geriatric patient dogs and should be implemented as one of the services in the CLSU Animal Medical Center and other veterinary clinics.
